Off to the Andalusian Hills

This March sale of Paintings, Prints and a few select Sculptures will be the last one for me at Gorringe’s. After 31 years I’m leaving for the foothills of Andalucia and you’ll find me at www.fincalavida.com dealing with avocados and processionary caterpillars rather than D’Oyly John’s and picture forgers.

Over the years I’ve handled an extraordinary array of artworks, met some remarkable people and visited many memorable locations. A big thank you to everyone, both colleagues and clients, who have supported me (and Gorringe’s) over the years. From April 1^st John Holmes, formerly of Duke’s, will be taking on the roles of Manager and Head of Pictures and I wish him every success.

Meanwhile enjoy the sale. The usual eclectic mix awaits, from a small collection of early portraits discovered in a French chateau to a solid silver Salvador Dali sculpture, two fabulous works by Marcoussis and Valmier and a wonderful sketch by Cadell…
