Silver, Jewellery and Watches Flip Catalogue
Clifford’s Auction Preview
Over 450 lots of silver, watches and jewellery are on offer in our 15th of October sale.
Roger has been beavering away valuing and cataloguing a wide array of goods from Georgian silver to fine watches and antique gems.
Highlights in the silver include a tea caddy and tray made by the ever-popular Batemen family (lots 21-22), a pair of colonial coconut cups (lot 28) and a Lord Byron card case (lot 83). A good selection of watches feature a number of mint and boxed Rolex sports watches – prices have dipped since the post-covid boom but the underlying demand is sure to rise and this may prove a wise time to buy.
Jewellery sees antique gems particularly well represented, most notably with a group of ‘Queen Anne’ aquamarine paste jewels (lots 223-225) followed by a wide representation of styles, gem stones and jewellery styles.
Curiosities thoughout the sale include a rare George III silver dish wedge (lot 26), a documentary lot of hairwork jewellery by Antoni Forrer (1802/3-1889), 'Artiste en Cheveux' (lot 243) and a fabulously funky ‘Lion King’ brooch (lot 453)
Enjoy the sale.
