Autumn Fine Sale 2022 Preview
27th of September 2022 at 9.30 AM BST
Our Autumn sale on the 27th of September 2022 at 9.30 AM BST offers an array of temptations, from silver, jewellery and watches to fine bronzes, autographed Royal photographs and South Seas weaponry.
What binds it all together is artistry; the technical skills and inventive creation behind each object on offer.
Qi Bashi (Bees and Chrysanthemums, lot 183) is the foremost name in 20th-century Chinese art, in Chinese eyes very much on a par with the western consideration for Picasso (see lot 74, Picador dish). Equally in demand and closer to home we have a number of English arts and crafts pieces, notably the De Morgan dish (lot 59, as good an example as one might hope to find), the Ruskin / A.E.Jones silver mounted bowl (lot 366, Art Pottery meets Art Silver) and the quirky drawings by a young Rex Whistler, drawn at the age of 14 whilst a fag at public school (and without doubt a good way of avoiding corporal chastisement, lots 294/295).
Finally for something more contemporary we offer works by Tracey Emin and Sir Antony Gormley (Domain, lot 346, to be sold with all proceeds going to a local school).
We do hope that there is something there to delight you. Please feel free to contact us should you require any further information.
